Snowdon Six Locked in
It's that time of year again. The trio of Nuddses that hold Gherkin membership have decided to return to Snowdon and have another crack at dying on its slopes. This will be the third time theyhave attempted the event that has become known as the Snowdon 6 challenge (find out more at snowdonsix.co.uk). Hoping to survive and, if it isn't too much trouble, set a new World Best, knocking their first two attempts down a place in the process. Although no one else has ever tried this event, we are hopeful that will change in the coming months. This trip is far more significant that the recces conducted previously. This time, the Nuddes hope to discuss the possibility of making the Snowdon 6 an official event with a view to holding a 'race' over a weekend. Fingers crossed that the landlord of the Cwellyn Arms (the ordained base of all Snowden sixers) helps our Gherkins to found what could become a legendary event - an event that could raise an awful lot of money for some very good causes indded!

Manchester Marathon Relay
This year's Greater Manchester Marathon saw three individul Gherkins (two of which running in Harriers colours) compete over the full distance, while four other Greenies entered a team in the relay event.
This marks the first time the Gherkins name has featured on an official results list and the team of Matthew Holder, Rob Costello, Sam Duckworth and Laird Nudds did the club proud by finishing second in a time of 2 hours, 54 minutes and 54 seconds.
Last year's winning time was a whole seventeen minutes slower, but the standard stepped-up in the second year of the event with the winners crossing the line 10:59 clear. Well done to the Gherkins!
